Solutions Engineer
Role Overview
As a Solutions Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the sales process, serving as a technical expert and trusted advisor for customers in the Japanese market. Your core responsibilities will include delivering technical presentations, showcasing product demonstrations, leading proof-of-concept (PoC) initiatives, and playing a vital role in responding to RFP tenders. You will work closely with the sales team to effectively communicate the value of our solutions and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Presentations & Product Demonstrations
- Deliver engaging technical presentations and live product demonstrations to prospective customers, showcasing the value and technical capabilities of our solutions.
- RFP and Tender Responses:
- Analyze customer requirements and prepare comprehensive, accurate, and timely responses to RFPs, RFIs, and tenders. Ensure all technical aspects are addressed effectively to support the sales strategy.
- Proofs of Concepts (POC):
- Collaborate with customers to design, implement, and manage POCs, ensuring successful outcomes that align with customer goals.
- Customer Collaboration and Engagement:
- Act as a trusted advisor to prospects, customers and partners, offering guidance on best practices and addressing technical inquiries and concerns.
- Cross-Functional Support:
- Provide occasional language support for internal and external communications, such as assisting with translation or localization efforts, to enhance collaboration with Japanese-speaking customers and partners.
- Market Expertise:
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to provide insights and maintain technical leadership.
- Team Collaboration
- Taking on assigned tasks for the SE team, e.g. reviewing documents such as PoC guides, marketing collateral, RFP content
- Ability to work independently and also collaboratively in a team environment effectively
- Knowledge of solutions engineering principles
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of Cybersecurity, Risk, Cloud, Networking and IT expected
Qualifications and Skill
- Technical Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivale experience)
- 2-3 years of technical security software or risk technical sales, pre-sales or consulting background
- 2-3 years of sales/system engineering/solutions architect experience in cybersecurity, risk or cyber threat analysis is highly desirable
- Communication Skills:
- Fluent in Japanese and English (spoken and written).
- Strong ability to present complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Problem-Solving Abilities:
- Proven track record of overcoming customer negativity and countering with product value propositions to meet customer-specific requirements
- Experience with presentations, live demonstrations, POCs, RFPS, and troubleshooting.
- Potential international and domestic travel - 20-30%
